HOW IS OUR HOT YOGA DIFFERENT?

The YHot series was created in British Colombia by a group of studios called YYoga and is now taught worldwide.  It is an integrated approach influenced by various lineages largely by Bikram, Iyengar and Anusara. The series incorporates heat with the principles of alignment and the understanding that we are innately good. The hot classes follow a set structure: it is a well rounded series that incorporates breathing exercises and static postures to balance strength and flexibility, physically and mentally. To inspire and connect with students the series is infused with different themes and teachers are encouraged to bring their personality to class. The series offers a strong, intense practice for the student yet is enhanced with softness and grace. The repetition of the practice can be likened to the repetition of mantra, a moving mantra that promotes healing through a balanced body and calm, focused mind.  YHot is ideal for beginners and all levels of studentship.

HOW DOES IT GET HOT?

Unlike many Bikram and Moksha studios, Dynamic Fitness offers a state of the art heating system which keeps heat consistent and humidity levels under control. A hot yoga class requires the room to be 38 to 40 degrees Centigrade (100-105 Fahrenheit ) and with 40% humidity. Our system ensures that the humidity and heat levels are controlled at the desired levels. It is important because having accurate heat and humidity levels is safer, better for your health and more effective for your hot practice.  The truly unique feature to our studio is the air recovery system which replenishes the studio with UV cleansed fresh air.  This allows us to run Hot or cool classes in one space!

WHAT AM I STANDING ON?

If you're finding it hard to balance on our floor... good!  Zebra Yoga Mat was developed specifically to meet the demands of yoga practice.  Each individual mat is covered in a tatami textured vinyl and features an anti-skid bottom for stability.  The tatami textured surface offers superior traction to a hard wood floor for difficult yoga poses.  It can also be easily wiped clean making it hassle free to keep your studio fresh and tidy every day. This allows you to practice worry free, not worrying about stepping on a build up of sweat on a carpet or floor.  As an added benefit the softer flooring is more comfortable on knees and hips and your balance will improve tenfold by activating the stabilizing muscles in the foot and leg!

POLICIES

PUNCTUALITY For maximum benefit of class arrive on time! Latecomers will not be permitted. For hot yoga take about 10 to acclimatize to the hot room before starting class

FOOD & WATER Hot Yoga classes are best practiced on an empty stomach. Although you should not eat a big meal at least two hours prior to class you don’t want to be starving – a banana or granola bar are great pre-class snacks if necessary. STAY HYDRATED! Drink water before, during or after class. Filtered water is available at the studio so bring your bottle!

CELLPHONES Turn them off!

PERFUMES & OILS Wait until after class to lotion up!

EQUIPMENT Bring your own yoga mat & towel. Hot Yoga classes can get pretty sweaty so it is good to own your own mat and a mat alone can be slippery. A $2 rental fee each will be charged for borrowed mats and towels. Yoga Mats & Towels are also available for purchase in our boutique.

MEDICAL Advise the instructor of any injuries or medical conditions & check with your doctor before starting any new fitness practice. Hot Yoga is not recommended for women who are pregnant unless you have already been practicing regularly.

CLOTHING Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in. Shorts and tank are optimal for a Hot Class.

  • All fees are non-refundable

Practiced in a moderately heated room. Warm the body up inside and out! Explore the depths of yoga with Steve and Erika as you flow through a guided vinyasa practice incorporating basic sun salutations, hand balancing, inversions, backbends and much more!

Our Instructors have been trained in diverse backgrounds, therefore our classes are inspired by many different Yoga traditions such as YYoga, Anusara, Hatha, Sivananda, Ishta and Vinyasa.

YOGA SPORT

Whether you are looking to improve your flexibility and function for activity and performance or you're an avid yoga student, this 60min class will focus on your balance, strength, coordination, flexibility and core stability. Linking postures together in a flowing sequence emphasizes continuous steady rhythm of breath and movement creating an athletic practice. Postures target tension areas and stiff muscles to compliment your regular training and performance sessions. This program is suitable for all ages and is taught by certified yoga instructor and Eli Sport pro trainer - Steve Puiia.
